With a handsome face and striking demeanor like his, we’re totally ready to fall deeper for Paulo Avelino playing his mysterious character Jolo in the upcoming movie, “My Love Will Make You Disappear”! But make no mistake, he’s not solely cut out to star as a romcom leading man.

Descending from an influential political family, Paulo as Phillip in ‘Kasal’ strives to uphold the Cordero name as a mayoral aspirant. With his background and his loving fiancée Lia (Bea Alonzo) in the picture, the campaign trail seems smooth. That is, until Lia’s ex Wado (Derek Ramsay) returns with a revelation that could sabotage not only Phillip and Lia’s relationship, but also Phillip’s political pursuits.

Smooth talker as he is, it’s no wonder that Paulo as Bryan in “The Unmarried Wife” charmed the dejected Anne (Angelica Panganiban), who’s fresh from witnessing her husband Geoff’s (Dingdong Dantes) infidelity. When Geoff proves he's far from changing his ways, the dashing Bryan sweeps Anne off her feet. Anne then gets caught between dating her passionate new boyfriend and patching wounds with the father of her child.

The talented Paulo tries his hand at horror in “Pagpag: Siyam na Buhay”, where he portrays the devastated father Roman. Unable to come to terms with his son’s death, he and his wife Lucy (Shaina Magdayao) turn to vicious means to resurrect their little boy. When a fatal injury takes his life this time around, Roman’s vengeful spirit returns to bring terror to careless visitors from his wake, who violated a popular superstition.

In perhaps one of his most daring roles yet, Paulo plays a fictional version of himself in the Black Sheep-produced “Fan Girl”. The cautionary tale follows a high school girl named Jane (Charlie Dizon) and her obsession with the movie star. As Jane hitchhikes to Paulo’s countryside escape through his pickup truck after a mall show, the idol she’s long adored unravels before her very eyes.
